IraqiAmerican Chamber of Commerce & Industry signs a major contract with MNC-I to train 20 State Owned Enterprises “SOE” in Business Edge courseware provided by International Financial Corporation “IFC”

IraqiAmerican Chamber of Commerce & Industry will conduct the courses on site at some twenty SOE’s at the Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the program is offered for the first time in Iraq and will be conducted by Iraqi trainers from academia and private industry
Baghdad, Amman, Cairo, September 10th, 2006 – In a major contract to train 360 staff and manager level employees at some twenty SOE’s and in cooperation with IFC, Iraqi Ministry of Minerals and Industry, C9, IraqiAmerican Chamber of Commerce & Industry will deliver sixteen courses in Finance, Marketing and Sales, Human Resource and Personal Productivity each course will take between 8-12 hours, focusing on hands-on experience, all course material is in Arabic
Twenty SOE’s where picked from a long list of over ninety for there readiness and need for this type of training. Most SOE’s have had decades of neglect and government control and therefore they need to prepare themselves to compete with the private sector or risk being extent and irrelevant and yet it is vital to save as many viable SOE’s as possible to safeguard against generating unnecessary unemployment in Iraq.
